Press Release

In these past years our company has continuously grown in its technical, productive and sales capabilities but above all in size and competence of our team. Everyday Lima staff is engaged in achieving excellence.

I would like to take this opportunity to briefly summarize the results that Lima has obtained in these last few years: an average growth rate over 20%, the launch of Trabecular Titanium technology which confirms Lima’s leadership as being innovative in the orthopaedic field and, the acquisition of Hit Medica which has brought into the company a great team of orthopaedic experts.

It is my will that Lima continues on this successful path; strengthening its presence on national and international markets, approaching the restricted group of worldwide orthopaedic companies, leaders in the market. The aim that the company’s shareholders and myself wish to achieve is to enter the stock market within 2011-2013 with a turnover exceeding 100M Euro. This ambitious goal requires a reorganization of our managerial structure and management and, with this in mind, our Board of Directors has assigned Ing. Stefano Alfonsi the role of Chief Executive Office of Lima-Lto. The newly appointed CEO, who will assist me in managing the company, will have broad authority thus allowing me to slowly reduce my operative engagements in the future within the company.

I have the pleasure of knowing Stefano since the beginning of his career in 1991 and I am convinced that his competence and managerial abilities are exactly what Lima-Lto needs. Stefano graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Padova and also has a Specialist post-graduate course in the Biomedical field conferred at the University of Tulane (USA). Stefano also has a Masters in Business Administration obtained from Bologna University.

Since 1991, Stefano has covered roles of increasing responsibility in Orthopaedics and Medical Device companies. He began his career in SAMO s.p.a. (Bologna) and left in 1998 as Technical Director. Consequently he joined DePuy Johnson & Johnson, in the UK, where he worked until the end of 2007. He started with various technical roles and gradually moved on to commercial responsibilities. His last position at DePuy was WW Vice President for hip market, based in USA.

In April 2007 Stefano returned to Europe, Zurich, and was appointed Marketing Vice-President at Covidien Surgical. Ing. Alfonsi is married and has two children; Stefano and his wife Isabella have returned to Italy and are planning to reside in our region, Friuli.

Please join me in welcoming Ing. Alfonsi to Lima and in wishing him great success.

Gabriele Lualdi
